  • Project Award: Sarnia Fire Station

    G. Douglas Vallee Limited continues to showcase our excellence in fire station design, being selected by the City of Sarnia through a competitive bid process as the Prime Consultant, Architect, and Engineers for the City of Sarnia’s new fire station. This project is currently in the schematic design phase and construction is planned to start in early 2022.

    G. Douglas Vallee Limited is pleased to announce that Michael Thier, OAA, has joined our Architectural team as our newest project Architect!
    Michael is an accomplished Architect with over 20 years of experience working with some of Toronto’s best large Architectural practices, as well as some smaller boutique practices. Michael’s experience spans from large projects ($25M+ construction costs) to smaller, custom residential and commercial projects. Michael is well-suited to the Architectural practice at Vallee with this wide range of experience in diverse projects and his years of construction experience.

  • Project Award: Parkhill Fire Station

    The Township of North Middlesex recently awarded the design of their new Parkhill Fire & EMS Station to G. Douglas Vallee Limited!
    This exciting project will combine a new fire station and EMS station within a single facility to serve the community of Parkhill. Vallee’s design experience with both fire and EMS stations was a key factor in Vallee winning this bid, and will be an instrumental component to the success of this project. The project is currently in the schematic design phase, with construct tenders to be called later in 2021.

  • Project Award: Maryhill Fire Station

    G. Douglas Vallee Limited was selected through a competitive proposal process as the Prime Consultant, Architect, and Engineering team for the Maryhill Fire Station!
    Maryhill is a community within the Township of Woolwich. Their fire station is old and in need of refurbishment. The work will involve demolition of part of the existing station, and the construction of a new addition to improve the functionality of the facility. Schematic design is underway, and construction is expected to commence in 2022.

  • Project Award: Metrolinx Heritage Projects

    G. Douglas Vallee Limited is very proud to announce that our firm, in partnership with Archaeological Research Associates Limited, has been awarded a four-year assignment to provide Architectural and Structural Engineering services for Metrolinx Heritage Projects!
    Metrolinx is a crown agency of the Government of Ontario, reporting to the Ministry of Transportation. It was created to improve the coordination and integration of all modes of transportation in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA). The Metrolinx mandate includes delivering the best possible transportation service (i.e. GO Transit) today while leading the way to an even better, more convenient, service tomorrow; making the best possible use of public transportation investment dollars; and measurably improving the quality of life in the region.
    Our Principal Architect, Melissa Stickl, OAA, and our Director of Structural Engineering, Ryan Elliott, P.Eng., are excited to keep growing our firm and reaching for great projects like the ones this partnership will provide.

  • Project Award: County of Brant Culverts

    G. Douglas Vallee Limited is excited to announce that the County of Brant has selected our firm through a competitive RFP process for the design of Potter Drain Culvert Rehabilitation and Chapman Culvert Replacement.
    G. Douglas Vallee Limited has provided bridge and culvert design services to the County of Brant since 2012, and we are very pleased to continue working with the County of Brant. We are eager to contribute to the local economy in the County of Brant, while navigating the challenges presented by COVID-19.

  • Recent Certification: Braden Ongena, E.I.T.

    Limited is pleased to announce that Braden Ongena has earned his Engineering
    Intern (E.I.T.) designation from Professional Engineers Ontario!
    Braden attended University of Waterloo to obtain
    his degree in Civil Engineering. During his time as an engineering student,
    Braden gained 12 months of co-op experience; eight months of this experience were
    with Vallee’s Structural Engineering department. Braden was also a member of
    the winning design team for the 2020 University of Waterloo Civil Engineering
    Capstone Design Competition.
    Braden graduated in the
    spring of 2020, and has joined the Vallee team in a full-time position in the
    Structural Engineering department.

  • Recent Certification: Natalie Biesinger, E.I.T.

    Limited is proud to announce that Natalie Biesinger has earned her Engineering
    Intern (E.I.T.) designation from Professional Engineers Ontario!
    Natalie attended the Civil Engineering program at
    University of Waterloo, and gained 12 months of co-op experience during her
    time as an Engineering student; she was also a member of the winning design
    team for the 2020 University of Waterloo Civil Engineering Capstone Design
    Competition.
     
    Natalie graduated in
    the spring of 2020, and has joined the Civil Engineering department at Vallee in
    a full-time position.

  • Project Award: Tyrell Street and Bellevue Avenue Reconstruction

    Douglas Vallee Limited is proud to announce that Norfolk County has selected
    our firm through a competitive RFP process for the design of the reconstruction
    of Tyrell Street and Bellevue Avenue in Simcoe. The project will be
    designed in 2020 and constructed during the spring and summer of 2021. The
    anticipated construction budget for this project is $3.0 million.
    The award of this contract to G. Douglas Vallee Limited continues our
    long standing relationship with Norfolk County on the majority of the County’s
    reconstruction projects. We are extremely proud of this record and look forward to continuing with this successful partnership.
