STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIST:

We are looking for a Structural Engineering Technologist to join our multi-disciplinary consulting firm. Our unique integrated collaboration with our in-house project team of Architects, Engineers and Planners in a small team environment sets us apart from 'the big' consultants. Grouping all these professionals in one team, under one roof, is a key to our philosophy of providing a "one-stop-shop" for our clients.

As a Structural Technologist with Vallee, you will be required to prepare detailed engineering drawings and field duties under the direction of the Project Engineer and Engineering Manager. The projects will include commercial, industrial, institutional, municipal and residential buildings. Your role will include but not be limited to drawing preparation utilizing REVIT and AutoCAD, review of shop drawings and assisting with construction management of projects.

The Job Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of structural drawings, details, and specifications on various building types.
  • Review shop drawings and respond to requests for information from contractors and owners.
  • Perform site reviews to confirm construction compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Develop knowledge of industry design standards and applicable codes for building structure design.
  • Work in a project team environment coordinating with architecture and other engineering disciplines and commit to quality.

The Required Qualifications:

  • Education in a Civil Engineering Science or Technology, Architectural Technology or equivalent experience
  • Eligibility for registration as a C.E.T. is preferred.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Minimum of 2 - 5 years experience drafting in the building design industry.
  • Basic knowledge of building construction.
  • Ability to work independently and develop client relations.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Must carry a valid driver's license

PLANNER:
Vallee Professional Planners

This is a full-time permanent position within our planning department. Under the direction of the Director of Planning, you will be active in all aspects of planning including: the preparation of justification reports considering relevant policy, zoning, supporting studies and the context in which the development occurs. The Planner will prepare presentations and speak at public meetings when necessary, conduct site visits and meet with clients and agency staff both virtually and in person. ADMINISTRATION AND SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR:

For this full-time position, we are looking for a candidate with skills and experience that include report writing, copywriting, proof-reading, communication, presentation software (i.e. Canva or PowerPoint). Social media and graphic editing experience are an asset (i.e. LinkedIn and Photoshop). Reception experience is an asset. We will provide training for social media engagement and introductory graphic editing.

STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN OR TECHNOLOGIST:
Vallee Structural Inspection

You will work with the Bridge Division on bridges, culverts, and retaining walls from conception and design through to completion of construction. This position includes designing and drawing, estimation, specification writing and tender document preparation. During construction, it will also include construction inspection and contract administration between the Owner and the Contractor including progress payments, change orders, certificates of substantial performance and release of holdback. The work includes a good variety of office and field work. A high level of proficiency with AutoCAD in civil engineering applications is required. A Diploma, CET designation, and AutoCAD Civil 3D experience are all definite assets.

INTERMEDIATE/SENIOR BRIDGE DESIGN STRUCTURAL ENGINEER:
Vallee Bridge Engineer

You will work with the Bridge Division on bridges, culverts, and retaining walls from conception and design through to completion of construction. This position includes working with the Bridge Division Manager as the Lead Bridge Design Engineer. The work will include overseeing the design, drawings, specifications, and tender documents for a variety of municipally owned structures. It will also include oversight of bi-ennial OSIM inspections and Asset Management work with municipalities. A degree in civil/structural engineering and a P.Eng. license (PEO) is a prerequisite requirement. AutoCAD and structural analysis software proficiency experience are definite assets.

CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN OR TECHNOLOGIST:
Vallee Civil Engineering Construction Inspection

You will complete on-site inspection of engineering works during the construction period and appropriate reporting and coordination of testing. Contract administration of construction contract between the Owner and the Contractor including progress payments, change orders, certificates of substantial performance and release of holdbacks is required. You will also complete engineering drawings and designs, assist in tender development and perform cost estimation for both private and public sector projects. A high level of proficiency with AutoCAD in civil engineering applications is required. A Diploma, CET designation, and AutoCAD Civil 3D experience are all definite assets.

We are looking for an Architect with enthusiasm and a passion for design who will eagerly engage with our team and assist us in our goal of providing quality architecture for our community. The position requires a high level of expertise in working drawing production, specification and tender preparation, organization of the technical team, and expert knowledge of the Ontario Building Code.
