G. Douglas Vallee Limited was contracted by Haldimand County to serve as the Architect and Structural and Civil Engineers on the new Caledonia Fire & EMS Station. The new station will house four drive-through apparatus bays with a two-bay EMS station on the opposite side of the structure, separated by an administration area. The fire apparatus room is comprised of the four truck bays, storage rooms, a workshop, and SCBA room.

The administration block will be house a training room, offices, several storage spaces, crew quarters, mechanical and electrical room, custodial room, bunker gear room, and universal washrooms/changerooms. The County requested a design that would allow for an eventual Net Zero building, and, as such, the new station will have the ability to be equipped with solar panels in the future.
